I just got a Western digital 1tb external hard drive for my birthday which is USB 3.0.
My question is how do I take advantage of the higher speeds USB 3.0 offers ?
I have an Asus Crosshair 4 mobo which apparantly supports USB 3.0 but how do I use it ?
Are there separate USB 3.0 sockets on the motherboard or do the standard USB 2.0 sockets detect when a 3.0 device is connected and thats it ?
If there are separate 3.0 sockets on the mobo, can I connect them up to the standard 2.0 ports on my case or do you need 3.0 specific ports ?
Sorry for all the noobish questions !
