hi there, just installed the H50 on my i7 C0 with no overclock at 2.66.

these temps look ok to you? the deviation between each core temp worries me slightly..should i get similar core temps or are these normal? thanks!!

36, 34, 38, 33

difference over cores is perfectly normal..

idle temps mean very little.. what are your load temps.. and what is the ambient temp?

Not sure... how do people find out the ambient temp without a thermometer?

i would say my room is quite cool.. say around 21/22 deg.

let me run quick test and get back to you on load temps. thanks.

er.. just ran 'torture test'?? using prime95.. only for a few mins.

temps are:

62, 60, 61, 56

normal?

I only ask as the idle temps using my old TRUE were in the lower thirties :(

It depends on the temperature on the room.

But yeah I would say they are a bit "high". Did you use the stock thermal paste that came with the cooler?

Temps will differ on each core, as core 1 and 2 are normally used the most. So different temps on each core's are fine.

I removed the stock paste and used Artic Silver 5... was expecting lower temps than my TRUE at least.

Maybe reseat the h50. What fan are you using on the rad on the h50? Stock fan? Do you have air pulling from out side the case or air pulling through the rad going out the case?

The stock fan isn't that powerfull. Try using a 120mm fan from your case if you have one and put it on the rad, see if it makes a diff. You could always do a push/pull config on the rad like I did. Stock core i7 860 idles at 26 and 55 on full load. Oc to 3.4ghz from 2.8, 36 idle, and when gaming, maxes at 50.

just tried it with one of my more powerful fans (silverstone fm121).. this thing pushes a lot of air.. to the point where it's crazy loud.

temps not that different.

not sure where i'm going wrong here but if i can't sort it out then i'm going to have to go back to my TRUE i'm afraid.

used different thermal paste this time: Thermalright The Chill Factor. Getting slightly better temps avg -1 on all cores. either i did a better mount this time or this stuff is better than AS5 which i find hard to believe?

oh well... it's not the end of the world and it makes my case look nice so i may as well stick with it.

thanks for all your help!!
