Norovirus, whos had it?

Had it a few years ago didn't last long thankfully 48 hours or so and didn't need hospital treatment like some but it was very nasty while it lasted even managed to pass out at one point woke up after I collapsed face first onto an armchair lucky I didn't hit something harder and more angular like a bookcase next to it

Both ends, not happy.
Mostly just rear end now.
Zero energy.
Yup. All of that.

I still have vivid memories of dragging myself to the toilet and not knowing to vomit or spray paint out my backside first and basically doing both at the same time, then lying on the bathroom floor shaking covered in vomit
Sitting on the toilet with my face in a bucket about covers it

Been a couple of bouts of it recentish with a small number of people at work (one might have been food poisoning), fortunately only seems to have spread between people in prolonged close contact, some of the stories were horrendous - most of them the worst of it "only" seemed to last about 12 hours.

Yo,

Been in bed since Saturday.
Both ends, not happy.
Mostly just rear end now.
Zero energy.

Who else has had it? Did you also experience a full week?

Silver lining, I was trying to loose weight. Last Friday I was 96.7kg. I'm 90.4kg as of this morning. So yea, great for weight loss.

Had it once ages ago.

Took over a week to recover from the ordeal, worst part is when you feel it needs to come out of both ends at once !

Yep. Illest I’ve ever been. 5 days of both ends, though just the back end for the last 3. Felt like I had been wrung dry.

Basically went from feeling ok to projectile vomitting inside 30s. The simultaneous feeling of being boiling hot and freezing cold was bizarre.

Had it end of last year, terrible experience. What made us worse is having to look after one year old and seven year old who also had it.

Basically, as a parent this is one of my biggest fears. One of them brings it home from school and then it works it's way around everyone. IDK, some idiot sending their kids to school when they are still ill. At least kids get better relatively quickly though.

Never been diagnosed with it, but have had all the symptoms twice in my life and being an organic Roman candle firing at both ends for 48 hours is just as horrific as it sounds.

Rehydration powders and as much water as you can force down is the way to go.

I had a bad case of it about this time last year, I had been looking after my nephew (he was in nursery) at the time, and he'd been a little ill, so I think he must have brought something back from the school.

By far the worst I'd been with an illness, like you, both ends, uncontrollable at times, hot/cold, sweating non-stop through the night..... I've had dengue fever twice, and I'd put the norovirus above that symptom wise.

I remember I was due to fly for work 48 hours after it first started, and had to call that off, I'd have crapped myself in the taxi on the way to the airport for certain haha, took me about 5 days to start feeling somewhat OK and it was probably the best part of a week before I felt fully like myself again.

Not since 2022. Vomiting for a few hours. Fell asleep in the hall close to the downstairs toilet. Then the back end for 5 days. Had take a load of immodium because i was flying to Greece. Then couldn't turd for 4 days in Greece. Was lovely to push out a fully formed turd.
Currently on the end stages of a outbreak on our ward at work. No new admissions till everyones discharged then fog the whole ward.

That's exactly what happened.....some people just don't care unfortunately.

I'm aware of at least one parent in our kids class who happily sends their kids to school. Even when in middle of full blown illness.

I witnessed the child being turned away at the door once. Bright red cheeks, snot running down their face, coughing.

The woman just shouted "what I am supposed to do all day if he's at home?!"
