Journalists are technically banned from going unless they get a special visa that restricts their access even more than usual. Hence why they try and get on the regular tours.

The poor villages we drove through on the way out were pretty dire but they were extremely strict about photos on that drive.

They really are a strange nation, they built a new state of the art gym which would make my DW look like a piece of dog ****, yet people die from hunger apparently

They're very keen on improving their global image, I imagine that gym is to improve their olympic chances.

The famines are in the past now but people are still far from being fed appropriately.
