Hi

Has anyone ever seen this TV show? I've only recently heard of it and have been reading a bit about it saying it's a great show and that it is very 'quirky' which has now intrigued me. How is it 'quirky'? In a Twin Peaks or Lost way with lots of mystery and a big finale or is it just generally not your average drama series?

Also, is it worth a watch?

Thanks for your help.

I used to watch this many years ago. Used to really enjoy it. The show has some "quirky" characters and some who are a little nuts :) Its pretty much about a new york doctor who moves to the town and struggles to adapt to life there.

Its nothing at all like lost and twin peaks! But very good and well worth a watch (if you can even find it)

Finding it shouldn't be an issue as it's readily available on DVD, with Rainforest UK listing the first series for under £5 and even a boxset of all six series for under £70.

I quite enjoyed it when it was on, at least for the first three or four seasons, but drifted away after that. It isn't as out and out strange as Twin Peaks though.

As stated above the first few seasons were great but it drifted after a while. Its quirky in the sense that every character is just a little bit mad, mainly because of the nature of where they live

Very good way of explaining it.

As said, though, it's not anything like Twin Peaks or Lost. The only thing in common with Twin Peaks is that they both started at the same time. It is more like a soap opera TBH.

Moose are cool. :D

Loved this when it was on, as above it is not a must see every episode programme just a gentle little hour a week indulgence.

Some good characters, nice humourous situations and well written.

If you get a chance an episode called 'Aurora Borealis: A Fairy Tale for Big People' was the first I saw (I saw it in Canada and thought it was a standalone hour long comedy drama thing but when I got back to the UK the seris started soon after) it was probably the best episode.

Looking on IMDB it is almost 20 years ago!

Loved this series. Watched all the episodes, bought the music cd and the book, that details all the actors. Fantastic..... was it really sooo long ago.

I freaking loved northern exposure. I was looking at the box set a while ago, I remember it cost an utter fortune so I didn't buy it, but man, what a show!.

I've got the Season 1 import in a special edition zip up parka cover somewhere. Very very funny but lost it's way after about season 3...
