Nosebleeds

Had a horrific week with my nose. Last Saturday night, I got a small nosebleed. I’m on blood thinners so thought nothing of it. When I woke up in the morning, I sat up and my nose started pouring, it was horrific. My bathroom looked like a murder scene.

Ambulance rushed me to A&E where they stemmed the bleeding. They then cauterised it and allowed me home. It was ok for a couple of days, then on Wednesday, while at the hospital having a blood test lol, it started again, this time worse though.

They wheeled me to A&E but the bleeding was too great, it was pouring. They did the most awful thing to it, they shoved packing right up the nostril into the cavity behind and inflated it. I was transferred to Lewisham hospital where I spent an agonising night with this thing stuck up my nose. In the morning they removed it. Luckily the bleeding had stopped and they cauterised it again. I came home with a stuffy nose but spent last night cleaning up crap from my nose that flowed out after it became unblocked.

Had a horrific week with it, I wouldn’t wish nasal packing on anyone. Still have to take the blood thinners though, so it could happen again ffs.

I had nose packing when I had surgery to correct my deviated septum from years of boxing. Had totally messed up my nose.

Removing that packing was absolutely horrid.

+1 horrible experience and then 2 weeks later when they remove the scar tissue with tweezers

It’s when they pull it out and there’s 2-3 inches of congealed snotty bloody mess pulled out with it.

No no, what's worse is when they cauterise it and then you sneeze tearing off the scar tissue and you get that congealed mess.

It’s strange though, I’ve been on blood thinners for years and never had a nosebleed. Now I get three in a week. Just got to hope that it heals well under the cauterisation scab. Doc reckons all three came from the same spot so I must have injured it somehow. Ain’t got a clue how though. I do subconsciously rub my nose quite roughly with my palm a lot though.

Welcome to my life. Had nosebleeds for 28 years. Usually something as simple as sneezing or blowing my nose but often nothing at all sets them off. Had them several times in restaurants while sitting and eating. Even had a couple mid sexy time which my ex didn't appreciate

Picking your nose can cause nose bleads. Dirty habit but many people do it.

I got blood in my eye ball. The panic on my wife's face, then the nurse's who came running in when all I knew about it was blurred vision

I remember having a few nose bleeds as a kid for no reason at all. Never happened since. If it did happened now I'd probably be found on my bathroom floor completely empty of blood thinking WTF has just happened.

I used to wake up in the middle of the night with a trickling feeling in my nose. Weird experience waking up with a full on gushing nosebleed.

Edit. Hasn’t happened since I was young though.

Can not remember a single time i have ever had a nose bleed despite being hit good few times in it. But my youngest used to have them regularly at night would find him in morning covered poor thing.
