Well it seems the Hitachi - not even 6 months old is wearing out - dunno why I bought another - had 2 deskstars die as well 
Anyways ... I left DFT run over night... It found bad sectors... options were delete (I guess format the drive) or repair sectors which would delete files....
so I exited - and trying to get off loads of files before total death.... its a 160gb drive split into 2 partitions...
My questions guys (finally sorry)
Is it worth just trying to format it with DFT ?
Or repair the sectors ?
and is it worth RMAing back ??? I think it gotta go back to USA - anybody posted one ??? whats the cost ???
The main problem is - it takes hours to check and format ! - wont bother if if probably wont help.... as for sending it back ... couldnt really be bothered last time .... but after 3 drives.... I reckon I should this time..
