I've been saving up for my new PC for quite some time now and finally, the time has come for me to go on a buying spree with OCuk. Here are the components that I had in mind, before I put them down I feel I should say that I am flexible with these components and the price too. I hope this scope will mean you can guide me to what you think would be best. Here's the list!

Asus P5N32-SLi Premium WiFi

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600

Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler

Tagan TG900-U95 900W ATX2.01 Turbojet Quad SLi Silent PSU

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

TWO EVGA GeForce 7950 GX2 SuperClocked 1024MB GDDR3 HDTV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Sound Card

Western Digital Raptor 150GB

Western Digital Caviar SE16 400GB

Samsung SH-W163 16x16 DVD±RW Serial ATA Dual Layer ReWriter

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP

I already have a case that'll do and nice, silent fans. One thing I would be very gratefull to know is how SATA opticle drives are in comparison to IDE. Are they as easy to install? I have had no experience with them before. Also, i was going to get a DFI nvidia 590 conroe mobo untill i heard about an FSB so low it made me cry inside. I'm also willing to wait a month or two if you know of any better components coming out within that time. I think waiting for G80/R600 is too much for me tho ;)

Many thanks for your time

Nearly 100 views and no replies? is this some sort of record? What have i done wrong? :(

I think the problem is that there are so many conroe spec threads that people are getting tired of giving the same advice again and again.

you might want to look at he 7200.10's instead of the raptors, they are pretty much the same, but the 7200.10's are a lot cheaper (and quieter )

Quoted for truth

ok, fair enough I guess. And thanks for the heads up on the Seagate Barracudas, i hadn't noticed them. That'll shave a large amount of the cost off the spec :D cheers!
