I have just finished building my PC flicked on the switch, all the fans powered up, Hard Drive, optcal Drive and GFX card fan, but i got the "No Signal" errorr on my monitor.

I have plugged everythign back in but still the same thign happens.

What should I try doing?

May I also point out that I had no beeps from the speaker. I thought i had put it on the wrong way around but then put it on a different way around and the aame thing happened, no beeps.

Can anyone help me? should i try rebuilding it?

Spec is:
E6300, Asrock CoreDual4 - VSTA, 2GB OCZ RAM, 6800GS AGPx8

Cheers guys

i had the same prob with a system awhile ago i though my GPU was at fault so i bought a new gpu and still the same no signal so later that day i took it to my m8s to try the gpu, cpu, and ram in his mobo they all worked turned out that the PCI e express slot was faulty

I really need some propper advice on hat to do here. I am going to try and reseat the processor, but would like some advuce because it means removing the mobo.

Thanks

I have searched the forum

I took everything out accept the motherboard could not get the heatsink off due to being stressed hot an sweaty. The motherboard came out.

Put everything back in again and still nothing, Whats happening?

Maybe my AGPx8 card wont work or is a too high voltage for the AGPx4 socket on the motherboard? I know that te AGPx8 card will run in the x4 socket.

i would take the cpu out and make sure yo havn't bent a pin... seen it happen before

Couple of things to check...

1. You have plugged in the power supply correctly to the board (All Leads)
2. Check the CPU is fitted correctly (no bent pins etc.)

That in my experience is what usually causes a PC to not POST, If your sure everything is fitted correctly then It could be a dodgy CPU or Board, can you try these in another System?

Ill take the CPU out tomorrow morning and thn see what happens, going to London over easter so cnat really do much till i get back.

I can't test the CPU or MoBo out in a different PC as its a new build, my old PC is a p4 478 so thats a no no.

I did try a 9200 LE (LOL) in the AGPx8 slot instead of my 6800GS but there was no change.

Remind me never to build from new again, I had a load oftrouble with my last PC i built. But it only ever happens to my PC's built a few for ther people.

Cheers anyway I'll let yas know whats going on.

just looking at your spec intel conro mobos use PCI - E express graphics cards and not agp unless am wrong

so id say ** graphics card will be to fault. Your cpu should be fine

Make sure your memory is pushed in properly, I had exactly the same thing on my first build and thats what it turned out to be ;)

1. Disconnect everthing from your motherboard like all SATA and EIDE leads and any cards in you system.
2. Reseat your CPU and place your memory into the yellow slots on the board.
3. Plug your 6800 gfx card into the brown slot (i think thats the agp8x).
4. Plug in the just 20 Pin power connector and the 4 pin power connector, also the 6pin power connector if your graphics card has one.

Now turn on your system and see if it POST's.

If it does post gradually start adding all the other parts to your pc.

If not, possibly try another old known good pci or agp graphics card to check its not the cpu thats fried.

Just tried a PCI-E card and still the problem persists. I have done all the things you have suggested a few times. What are my options now RMA motherboard?

Well it could be the CPU, do you have another socket 775 cpu you can test in there? possibly your friends one?

If you can test that and it still doesnt work then yes it will be either your motherboard or possibly a fault with your PSU powering the motherboard. It wouldnt hurt to try another PSU.

It really is a process of elimination sometimes.

After a google someone seemed to have a problem with OCZ ram on this board. Try just 1 stick and try it in all possible slots, then do the same with the other stick.

If still no luck try and borrow some ram from mate.

Okay well ill see f i can borrow another CPU but i dont think i can, and i deffo cant use another PSU the only one i have is 250W. Thanks for the help
