Don't know about the rest of you but I always thought that sex education was quite weak in some schools, it certainly was in mine. We spent about five minutes on sex education and even then our Biology teacher was embarassed about it, it was pathetic.

However, what is most important is that all teenagers should be taught about contraception, not only what types are available but where and how to get it. Possibly places even near the school. I think it's even important that boys are told how the pill works, when it should be taken etc. I only learned recently and I'm very pleased I know. I wish I'd been told in school though, otherwise I feel a little left in the dark.

Sex education was taught quite well at my secondary school, though it wasn't taught in science, was taught in some compulsary subject about drugs and the like. But I remember being taught it at junior school and that was just a complete joke.

I think that's the main problem, young kids not being able to get contraception. Your not going to stop them having sex. But we could make it a lot easier for them to do it safely.

I really think condoms ect should be available off the school nurse free of charge and completely confidential, the school nurse should also do the sex ed and be very friendly and funny. But most off all trustworthy so kids would go and see them. Without the fear of being lectured to.

When i was at secondary school 7-8 years back our sex education lessons every fortnight were used to help create our portfolios, not once was we taught anything thats supposed to be taught in a sex ed class, whatever that may be cause i dont have a clue, i wasnt taught it :p.

Anyway, nowadays there is only one piece of advice that seems to go round.

The more kids you have, the bigger the house you'll be given. Its pathetic.

We had a whole day off lessons, They made it very funny. But it also was very well planned out. We got to go round in groups and had talks about drink and sex unprotected sex ect.

But i think i was...

When I was at school we were taught how to put a condom on a *****, well it was just a sticky up tube. ;)

The fun that was to do....blindfolded.

We never even saw a condom at my school :(

We just had to do all this bull**** paper work and watch a video and learn about STDs and how things worked.
We also had to go home and question our parents about what they were feeling when they were going through "The change"

I believe in Holland. They are thought in high School how to put on a condom.

There be uproar in UK if they did such things. Shame really

Wasn't too bad at hours they explained all the different methods and stuff. The worst one I remember was in first year at secondary school where dafts genital names were put on the board!! Wtf was that all about?

well, in my last year at school, which was only 2 years or so ago, we were taught how to put one on, mind you i think that was as a last measure to alleviate the inbreeding in my area, it is terrible, everyone's everyone else cousin, makes my glad I'm not part of that shallow pool of ever increasing idiocy

We had one class and we all sat in shock at how this 65 year old woman described how she enjoys regular sex with her older husband.

We (a class of Y9 students) were all just literally sitting there like

(a cross between that and the vomit smiley you get on MSN :p )

Aint that the truth!

Sex ed at my school was pretty much non-existant, with maybe a maximum of 1 hour in Y11 or something.

And they wonder why we have a problem with teenage pregnancies....

Everyone knows that the more you teach kids about sex, the more likely they are to actually have it. ;)
