Compared to what? It doesn't sound like a nova farting through a bean can, but then no powerful car sounds anything like most of the godawful big bore exhausts you hear on shopping cars...

IE the mustang sounds a million times better......as do nobles, as does the e60 m5 with a nice 'zorst....the porsche doesnt have any special rasp to it or anything, it's quite a boring sound really.

Love the car, but it doesnt do it aurally for me :)
 
A 911 full chat with a good exhaust sounds awesome. So does a V10 M5, V8 'Stang and V12 'Rari. The 911 has a very metallic, shrill sound which sounds far better in real life than the clip portrays.
 
Why are you still posting? The sooner you go to bed the sooner you can go pick it up! I'd have been asleep this time yesterday :p

It's probably because it's a turbo engine, they always sound a little 'muted' and soft in comparison to a N/A car.

when a 997 turbo is on full chat its not quiet even with a standard exhaust. it only seems quiet inside the car. if you are following it then it makes a pretty good noise, having the turbo makes it a much more wholesome noise.
 
Amazing car :D.. I was Driving the 911 JP3 down at palmer in the wet.. i was amazed how well the thing gripped in soaking conditions.. one of my fav cars i drove.. walked outside and there was a GT3RS in orange and white in the car park.. lucky gits lol
 
Tubi exhaust eh.?...heard one on a carrera 4s a while back...was very loud but ever so sweet sounding
