when i am in 3D mode, according to ATi tool which i have open on my second monitor, my 3D clocks are not changing, they are staying at the standard 2D speed of 499.5gpu / 594mem instead of going to 621 / 720

what should i do  i reinstalled the ATi drivers to no avail.

Ummn, ATi Tool doesn't update clocks, so it won't show them :p

Download ATi Tray Tools latest beta 1.2.6.995 IIRC. It has graphs/overlay that shows clocks, temps, fan speed etc.

bah humbug... that would explain my frustrations... will try ati tray tool now.

nope... just as i thought. i ran the monitoring graphs in ATi Tray Tools, and ran the 3D bench test on counter strike. clocks didnt change... :(

Ummn, right, the services arn't running, did you make sure you uncheck enabled I2C when installing ATT? This doesn't work well with R/520/R580 Cards.

Also ATT might have disabled the services, go to Tools and Options --> General Options --> Advanced, make sure the two ATI Hotkey poller boxes are unchecked.

Then go to services.msc, make sure both services are set at automatic, restart and it should work.

If it doesn't I have a backup plan ;)

i dont even have an option for ATi hotkey polers in msconfig or services.msc for that matter. i do have 2 x CLIStart though.

ATiSmart was dissabled ? have enabled it, will reboot now.

im not sure why, but for some reason, enabling ATi Smart has fixed it :/ stupid bloody catalyst crud. its even fixed my annoying smartgart problem on boot up.

Standalone Drivers + ATT clocking = win

when i am not in an uber lazy mood i will sort it out... ;)

im a beta tester for supreme commander you see and i couldnt figure out why my game was lagging :/ 2.9Ghz opteron148, 2 gig corsair XMS, X1900XT 512 and im only running a 19" tft and 17" tft so it was puzzling me as to where the power was going :/

then i noticed the 3D clocks... i think ive been running for the last 3 months at a good 20% under full strength lol

now if i could just figure out how to overclock the damned thing... i miss my 9800pro :( it was all so simple.

again... that requires effort lol.

with my good old pro you just let ATi tool do the work and then set your clocks via radlinker. now its all 2D GPUvoltage this, 3D GPU voltage that... just feels a lot more dangerous to overclock a graphics card these days :(

mind you i do have the HIS X1900 which is supposedly a bloody good clocker... i just haven't been bothered to find out yet.
