Not so bad I suppose

it is nasty, you never know when a bleed nipple will snap and brake fluid is horrid stuff.

Pah, it's not that bad. Bad for paintwork yeah, but there's little chance of getting fluid on that unless you trip or fall.

most garages wont risk a mityvac or any of those nonsense 1 man bleeder kits the last thing you want in the system is a vacuum, its enough trouble getting a full bleed done without popping the master cylinder as it is.

As I said I have no real idea what garages use. I don't trust car mechanics with anything I own.

Whilst I'd love it to be the case I reckon you are mistaken if you think anyone more than a fitter is going to change your oil and microfilter.

You are probably right, but I like living in hope:p

It used to be proper mechanics at an independent. Now apparently BMW use proper master mechanics.

There are various schemes by main dealers in naming their mechanics for various levels, most simply use a years worked system with no real or a very simple training scheme before slapping the 'chief technical master controller' badge on.

I know of no main dealer who uses the more regarded schemes like bosch master tech or ATA.
