Hi
I am running windows 7 for my media machine, all this does is watch/record TV, dvds and the like.
but i have a problem that keep happening, when i turn the TV off, or even in standby, sometimes the picture will not come back on, when it does come back on just before it it makes the double dum dum, like when a usb devise is plugged in.
graphics card is a radeon 3450 HD, and tv card is the haupage t500 (which i know is USB internally on a pci card)

but it can happen even if i dont have the windows media centre open.
so is it the tv card, or graphics card at fault?
and without buying new cards is there a solution?

I had that problem once with an HDMI to DVI cable between a Sony TV box (Tivo like thing) and my TV. A new cable fixed it. These things can be finicky. A longshot maybe but worth a try?

You might also check to see if there is a firmware update for your TV and the card?

If you leave the tv switched off when you boot the pc and wait till its booted before switching the tv on do you also then not get a picture?

Also check your bios for a 'Repost video on s3 resume' option and enable it if it isn't already enabled - if it is enabled try setting it to disabled (yeah weird I know but give it a shot)

the PC is on 24/7, only ever turned off if i cant get the picture back on, or power cut.
in answer to your question, yes still no picture, when rebooting its always hit n miss to if it will come back on with the screen

i have ordered a new dvi-hdmi cable, so hopefully that will sort it.

Have a look in your bios for the 'Repost Video when resuming from sleep' options - it may be that simple.
