ssd drive.. ive noticed my ssd drive getting rather full after i reformatted a few days ago and put on a few programs it is a 232gb ssd drive

right click c drive used space 176gb
if i open c drive and right click highlight all thats in there with hidden folders ticked and go to properties its 73.1gb used

so i have 102.9gb hidden somewhere
can someone please explain this to me

102.9gb is a lot of information
like how much is a 100gb ssd drive in £? expensive i know around about 70 quid

what version of windows? there is a command which escapes me (google it) that allows you to remove all the files created during install and during any windows updates.

Make sure recycle bin, hibernation and system restore are all disabled as they waste a lot of space, also your page file could be hoarding a lot of space depending on your ram size.

windows 7 that win install command is for the temp cache its temp so its gone on reboot
is that what you mean?

windirstat looks pretty.. but didn't tell me what i needed to know ..just tells me 73.1gb is used

and over 100gb is a lot of info to go walkies need some more idea's

What anti virus do you use? I noticed my SSD was losing space fast even though it was a relatively fresh install, and noticed a component of Avast was forcing the system restore space to be 50%: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=162041.0

Once you've uninstalled the NG component go to Computer properties -> Advanced system settings -> System protection -> Select your SSD and then configure, and move the slider down to something more reasonable as well as deleting the previous restore points.
