I've started to transfer files I want to keep in readiness for my gaming PC rebuild and home server project. The files on the original drive are 284GB in size. I just copy and pasted the entire contents of one drive to the other but the new drive says its only got 272GB of used space.

I've checked every folder from the original location to the new location and each folder matches in terms of size. Wheres the other 12GB gone?

Just a copy n paste.

Didn't turn on hiddens but can't believe theres 12GBs worth. The files are all pics/films/game saves on a 2nd HD.

EDIT no.2 - silly boy! It was deleted files in recyle bin
