Ok this is embaracing ive been working on and building PCs for nearly 3 years now and i've not had this problem, I bought a 5970 and everytime it went over 30% load the PC would crash out and then reboot.
I then RMA'd the 5970, had a look at the rest of the parts to check all was ok and had to RMA my CPU, also 1 RAM stick was busted so replaced that,

Now i am runnign 2x5850's with a AM3 X4 965 with 7mb DDR2.

Now its doing somthing similar, everytime i open WoW for over 5-10 mins it crashes the computer ... but i play CoD MW2 for 40-50 mins its fine!.... its find running without games running on a heavy CPU & RAM load though.
It seems to have difficulty using more than one screen at the moment as on my 2nd screen it was showing weird tears on the bottom half a lot, i replugged it and it worked, then plugged in a 3rd screen and it has that problem all the time =/

This leads me to believe it could be the mother board - dodgy PCI-E slots or software problems,

Any input or advice would be much appereciated, taken me months to get my PC up and running again so really wanna avoid Further RMA'ing

your psu up to spec?

Some games disagree with certain computer builds, for instance, I can run pretty much every game perfectly for hours on end but 10 minutes of Call Of Juarez will crash my computer. I know this isn't particularly helpful, but just something to consider.

Thankyou Gizmo, that is helpfull actually - I dont mind giving up WoW too pricey anyway but jus hope its not a hardware fault as i dont wish to go MORE months without my main tower.

I think some games are just poorly coded for certain hardware, if you can go Prime stable and are able to run your favourite game for a few hours on end with no problems, I think the problem lies with the particular software ;)

power supply is good imo it is possible its faulty but i have also came upon the odd game that will not play no matter what...and its always a game you want to play lol....the problem with rma it will be there tests on the board will probably show its ok....

Please list complete specification. If anything has behaved erratically in the past, mention that too.

Does it pass:
IBT
Memtest
Prime 95
Furmark
Folding@home (not strictly a stress test, but works as one)

Running:
AM3 X4 965 (With Coolermaster V10)
Asus M4N82 Deluxe nForce 980a SLi
2x PowerColor HD 5850's
7GB DDR2 RAM (3x2GB + 1x1GB)
Coolermaster 1000w PSU
X-FI Creative Fatal1ty Sound card
2x24" Samsung monitors

Passes Furmark - SCORE: SCORE: 7278 o3Marks - running 1280x1024 MSAA: None

i agree with this as well.

i had a crossfire set up and would not play 3 game's with both card's running.

i took one card out and it played everything after that.

Im not sure both cards ARE running =/ they must be as one monitors plugged into each card but the FurMark test should give double the score =/

My PC crashed out blue screening when i watched Make Love not Warcraft (Southpark) on iTunes earlier... im sure a PC cant hate WoW this much =/
