Not sure what's up with my gpu

Recently bought a used GTX 970.
Using with a Ga-z77-dh3, i5 3570k, and a seasonic 650w psu.

Just booted up, and at the login screen even before the desktop, the coil whine starts like I'm playing a game. Will only whine for 2 seconds, the pause for 2 seconds, then continue for 2 seconds, then pause etc...
theme on desktop changes, and then finally stops after about a minute.

Noticed this happen a few times seemingly random.
Any ideas?

Try deleting all the Nvidia drivers and re downloading.

Worth a try. Difficult to know if I come across a solution, as it happens randomly.

You also might want to use a registry cleaner after uninstalling.
