Not sure when this last dash update came out, but wtf?

I forgot about the Singstar logo being stuck on the XMB, at least give us the option to remove it! The epilepsy warning doesn't bother me so much as I usually turn the console on and then go and make a drink or something while it's warming up. :p

Still think the dash is leaps and bounds over the PS3 system.

I've been using a PS3 recently, and it is so limited and just seems stupid compared to the xbox dash.

Plus, stop renting crap movies. Or you could sign up for netfix, £6 a month and the first month free.

I would agree with the Xbox dash, I prefer it over the PS3.
The ads dont bother me, I know where the stuff is I need, so dont really see a problem with it ;)

I still miss this, don't know why haha. I really liked it xD

The problem is you're already paying £30 a year for it, why should you have to sit and look at a crap load of (imo) intrusive adverts. The blade system was much cleaner and simpler to use. They could have refined it, given it a few extra bells and whistles instead of the horrific ZOMG ADHD rubbish that they've gone with. It's like it's designed purely for people who need to be overloaded with colours and pictures otherwise they might lose interest. ;)

Sky does not have it's own blade? it's listed in Apps and in the TV and movies section which is where it should be?

Its the movies and TV one I'm talking about, seems predominately taken up by apps and stuff I dont even have. I know i have the ability to buy them, but the point is they shouldnt be there unless I have bought them.

Its all adverts and recommendations for things we dont even use.

So you can skip right past that section if you don't need it? And off course they should be there even if you have not bought them, just like the same Netflix and Lovefilm etc apps are listed on the PS3 is you don't have them, why would they not promote such apps to the users?

because i pay a fee and dont wish to have my dash covered in things i dont use or want to use? Theres an apps section, they should be in the apps section. If bought they should then appear on the relevant blade?

The way it is as i browse through the blades, I use maybe 30% of whats actually on those blades on the whole! I imagine its similar for many!

How can you not see that thats bad UI design.

The UI is not the greatest but saying they should not promote services like Netflix, Sky and Lovefilm in the TV and Movies section is just being a bit silly. If you don't want to use these apps then its a click of RB to move past the section, hardly a major hardship?

What are you looking for on the dash further on past the TV and Movies section anyway out of interest? Do you have similar complaints about Sony promoting these apps as well?

I really dont see the problem with the Xbox dash. I put in a disk and play my game. Or I press RB twice to get to games, My games and start a XBLA game.

There might be lots of stuff on the dash I dont use\want, but I also dont need to bother getting wound up about them ;)

Not to the same point no, As the interface is simple and not overcrowded. But yes, I do believe the option to only have items on a UI if they are purchased or used by a user is a must, and seeing company promotional gaff is not part of why I want a console. If they want to advertise, have 1 blade with the whole lot on, even make it default to that blade on startup! I couldnt care less, I just think functionality of the other blades are slapped in the face by adverts and apps that I dont own.

Then you would complain you can't find nothing and the dash is rubbish :p

I really don't understand your point though so prob best to leave it there, as I would expect to find video apps in the tv and video section, and music ones in the music section etc etc, as that seems very logical to me and good for the user who wants to find these apps and for those that want to skip right past them like yourself.

Checked last night and there is a Lovefilm ad on every page expect the settings one :( In addition this it's the only ad that has noise.

At least on the PS3 it was only in the TV section.

Also I really can't understand why they have ad's for old games and films, last week they were promoting Cop out (film) and Reckoning. Both well over a year old.

Seems to me they would rather promote/advertise any old crap rather than have something that hasn't been released yet.

Yeah its an advert? Not sure if it has sound as I have never felt the need to move the selected tile to that advert, maybe you feel the need to do so just to complain about it though :D

As for promoting any old crap then look no further than having Singstar rammed down your throat by Sony.

Mayube its not there now, but im sure the xbox dash lets you preset you opening "tab" and you can remove ones you dont want, well atleast i believe you used to be able to, not tried it recently

Sadly not, the only thing you can customise is the "Pinned" section, which I find useless anyway as it takes too long to open. It's quicker to use the Recent Items bit.

It does have sound yes, and extremely annoying if your tv sound is turned up. As their is no indication that RB/LB scroles through each page then for the uninformed like myself I have been scrolling through the tiles to get to the next page etc etc.

Agreed on Singstar, but tbh your nitpicking when you can only pick out one thing over the complete rubbish on the Xbox dashboard. I mean all there is is adverts upon adverts upon adverts in every section, most old junk that no one would be interested in, and how many adverts for Lovefilm do we need?

I'm enjoying the 360 but the dashboard is not one of the reasons, eveything of any use or interest is hidden away yet all you see is adverts plastered everywhere :(

I think you are the one nitpicking, what do you need to do on the dashboard? And what of interest do you think is hidden away?

When you have your TV sound turned up and you get sound on the PS3 is it annoying as well? Like when you go into your games and they start playing music? Imagine sound coming out when you have the tv volume on, totally unreasonable to some I guess :D
