I'm running a 4 year old i7 920 rig overclocked to 3.8, with a new Asus GTX 660 card. I have a 19" LG19060TR monitor, which is 1280 x 1074. I don't think it affects my question, but I'm on Win 7 64 Pro with 16g of memory.
Thinking of upgrading the monitor. It's a good one, IMHO, but obviously limited by today's standards. The problem, I think (and this where I need help), is that - whilst I have flight sims etc which would benefit from higher resolutions \ larger screens - I also have many games that are resolutely set at 1280 x 1074 as a maximum, and I'm worried that they will become pretty unplayable if I upgrade. As you can see, I know nothing about modern monitors!
Is there a thread \ site that some kind soul could direct me to that might either set my mind at rest about upgrading, or tell me that I need to stay with what I have?
Thanks
Paul
