It's a Huntsman; a very common spider in Australia. We used to get them around the house quite often when I lived in the country. Very flat and low to the floor; they can creep under a door, or through the cracks in a doorframe.

Bloody hideous, and terrifying of course; but not poisonous, so technically harmless.

That didn't stop me from killing one whenever I saw it. And it took some doing, I can tell you! :eek:

I don't mind spiders, but that thing looks evil and fast! I would be chasing that round the house with a large boot!

You can't use a boot; they just wrench it from you and kick your arse with it.
 
I'm not scared of owt smaller than my Trainer & they are size 14 & a half so not much at all really :D
If it wasn't for spiders this planet would be infested with flys & I ****** hate flys.
Spiders are fine by me even if they are Scarey vegimite eating killers like that one.
