I'm stuck whether to choose between these 2.

Am I missing any pro's/con's :

Note 4:
Faster, bigger, nicer, slightly longer battery life
S5:
Waterproof (!!, I like, means using phone under shower), cheaper, smaller

S6 looks good, but not waterproof, and way to expensive (more than a note 4, while it doesn't seem like a step up performance wise from a note 4). I dropped the competitors because I've been using AMOLED for 4 years now and I don't like the blacks of IPS screens.

I'm coming from an S4.

Leaning towards an S5, and thinking I'll pick one up tomorrow ( 10GB 4G ( after 10gb limited speed) + Spotify premium, unlimited calls and texts for 38 quid per month 2yr ( note that I'm in the NL)).

I'm having last doubts though, I'm worried it's not fast enough ( though I will root it and remove some of the Samsung crud), the Note 4 has a much faster CPU and 1 gb more RAM after all.

I have considered the Iphone 6 ( no micro SD, expensive, smaller, battery life), One M8 and M9, Nexus 6 but dropped them pretty much for the lack of waterproofing and IPS screens. I do like the audio quality of the built in speakers of the One's.

I've had waterproof phones but never actually taken them under water lol

Personally I'd go for the note 4. Better phone. Better screen. Better camera.

If you want waterproof. I'd choose a Sony z3 over an s5 all day long.

The Z3 does look slightly nicer ( more ram, more battery life), I'd give up the blacks though.

While I can see the rating indeed, does this mean that I can swim with the phone ? I know friends who have swam with the S5 and use it under the shower all the time and have no problems.

If you do consider the Note 4, then I highly recommend the Nexus 6. Im also a big fan of AMOLED. Stock Android is very nice on it and the stereo speakers are excellent.

Is the Z3 actually tested well under water conditions, can I use it under the shower daily ?

IF yes, then I'll porbably be getting the Z3, otherwise, you guys have confused me and I'm tempted to go for the note again...

A different point, I love loud music, both in the gym ( hf's) and the car ( jack cable).
The Z3 supposedly doesn't really output much volts though the jack plug. Which may be an issue! I want the volume to be as loud as possible ( from spotify). I'm really worried I'll lose some volume with the Z3.

Couldn't help you with this mate. Not a big headphone listener personally,

Maybe ask in the z3 thread?

Took the plunge and ordered the Z3, I was very tempted to grab the Nexus 6, but in the end I read about bad screen brightness, no sd slot, and it's 40 euros more so meh, perhaps in a month when my dad will renew his contract :).

I have a lease phone atm, I'd love to see the face of the people when they see it given back, I have cracks from all 4 corners of the screen from falls, the mainboard is exposed in the top right corner, and have an additional souce of cracks on the middle/side, from when I tried to open a beer bottle using my phone in a drunk mood :D.
