Note or Nexus?

The Nexus screen being none Gorilla glass I think is disappointing for a top line smartphone
I always manage to scrape or scratch my phones at some point and this Gorrilla glass is great at protecting it

the nexus screen will be toughened glass like on all top smartphones - just a different kind.

Do you only buy vacuum cleaners made by hoover too?

It will be available on contract I imagine.

If you hardly use your phone as a phone, then obviously it's more appealing but even then, I still think the Nexus is the one to go for as you're bound to text and call sometimes... right?!

Prices don't seem too unreasonable.

I have just switched to a sim only contract, so I am now saving £20/month vs my old contract. I think I will stick with this for a few months to save a bit of money and then pick up a note in the new year. We may have some idea on an eta for ics by then.

100% correct, it's honestly not all that far different from every other glass that's on phones currently - they all still get scratched by sand :)

And considering how easily "gorilla" glass smashes on iPhone 4s and 4Ses shows it's not this magic stuff people make it out to be. My old abused iPhone 3G has a few scratches, but nothing major, and I've dropped it plenty of times and regularly keep it in a pocket with keys and coins and it doesn't have gorilla glass (as far as I know anyways).

The iPhone 4/4S doesn't have gorilla glass, it has a custom strengthened glass which is fairly similar to gorilla glass though.

Phone screen durability all comes down to luck. If you drop a phone with a gorilla glass screen and it lands badly, it can shatter in one go.
