Trying to sort out something portable as I stuck my elbow through my 15" Toshiba recently.

I've come across a few different ideas and was wondering what you lot thought.

Obviously I cant link to them but here are the ones i've been looking at

Flashy uber cool Sony Vaio VGN-TX17LP/B Carbon fibre jobby at £1700 but so slow compared to the others
Samsung Q35 red Limited edition at £935 ish
Dell XPS M1210, depending on options £973..

Any more I should be looking at??
Nothing on OC small enough. :(

Wouldn't dive into the Sony market - they're recalling even more of their laptops due to the battery problems. It's mainly Asia where they're being recalled, but you just never know.

The Samsung one you mentioned got a great review in a magazine (won the best buy award in the portable laptop section) and didn't pick up any obvious negatives. The highlights being:

Excellent Battery Life
Good Windows Performance
& Good display and keyboard

12.1" screen though.

The Q35 is pretty much my top choice at the moment.
probably going to be that one as the deal on the dell ends today, so no doubt the price will go back up to around £1500.

I do plan to fix the tosh at a later date but I've only got three weeks before I go away, and kinda wanted something tiny but usable whilst away.
somewhere to stick my Dive logs mainly. :D
