Emails really don't need to give you notifications:
I do try and periodically unsubscribe/filter regular emails which aren't from a human. But obviously there are tons of emails that do matter and 95% are automatic emails from stuff I already know about. So, no notifications!
you should tell the people I work with... lol
One person raised a request and was approved by his manager, he felt the need to contact me over teams; even thou I got automated email and a notification on my work home page telling me that it's there waiting for me to approve it.
Then he decided to debate the fact that I don't actually approve them myself, I'm on the owners list for techincal reasons to fix things when they go wrong.. while he thinks I should approve them...
Anyway, I had to re-explain to him that the way we work in our department is not of his concern, and it was now 9:30 on a Tuesday morning after a long BH Friday and Monday in the UK, the fact that his manager only approved it 15 mins ago... so don't he think it would be responsible considering that there's no SLA on approvals, to allow one of the other 9 people who actually do approval them a little time to get round to it.
So can he kindly **** *** so I can actually do what I'm paid to do which is to check the servers are working and if not fix them...
Magically without even apologising, he said he lost track of time as he was traveling on a train...
I have strongly suggested to department that runs teams that we should have it setup that no unsolicited messages appear until we accept the message or at least allow us to block other users...
