Why would anyone use this kind of service anyway?
In my opinion you are much better of setting up a secure home mail server and get your own domain. It looks much professional and much better privacy.

No? It's fairly straight forward, it's still an email address, but you can't use it in a conventional sense, anything that gets sent to that address is just treated as a "Facebook message" which you can access from your Facebook inbox.

Sorry, I don't really use Facebook, messages is the IM facility i'm presuming. Maybe they should get that fixed instead of changing the layout every 3 months and adding useless **** nobody needs seeing as the last time I used the IM on Facebook it wasn't particularly great.

I hate this, my messages constantly says 1 new even though its just a chat message that I've already seen! And when doing a proper message, when you press enter it just sends it as if it's a chat message!

Agree, I forget to shift enter and just send lots of little broken messages. :mad:
 
Surely the easiest solution would be to just give everyone the email address related to the username you got the opportunity to select last time? Otherwise each user could have potentially three different identifiers, one the login, two the username we we all offered last year and the a 3rd for an email.
