Nowt wrong with my 360 thread ;)

Got mine last week. Japanese ebay one.. since they're piling up in the far east, I guess I've got old stock (mfr: 20/11/05). No problems so far with Ridge Racer or Condemned. The drive noise is very distracting though. Fortunately I was bored the other day so I cut out a thick cardboard box with airflaps for it :D Ghetto noise reduction! Well at least it'll be a bit safer from prying eyes. If they keep pumping out good games, I've no reason to splurge on PC upgrades :)

^ I thought they were region locked.

They are, but Japan is the same region as the UK iirc (Region 2). Don't quote me on that tho, they may have added further regions to the X360. Some games are region free tho.

Oh yeah so they are lol, should have known as ive got a Jap PSP sitting here that plays UK movies. DOH!!. :D

I'm pretty sure game regions are separate from DVD regions. They're usually split up into North America, Japan/Asia and Europe/Australia. I'm playing the region free games and Japanese ones so far. The console is launching around Asia now so hopefully I can get in on them cheap asian games :)

My third 360 should arrive on Thursday. First one had a faulty fan, at least it sounded faulty, was like a plane taking off. Second one, which was picked up today, wouldn't play original xbox games (compatible ones) despite spending weeks attempting everything under the sun to get them to work.

My second one was nearly as noisy as the first. I hope to God the third one will be quieter. I can put up with a noisy DVD drive, but the whining fans were murder - the noise went right through you.

As someone else said, thats only true for DVD's, not typically games.

Mine seems fine but i think its one of the second batch (Didnt buy it on release day) Only crashed twice on me once when i tried to reply to a message whilst i was hosting a game of PGR (I had been knocked out) and it crashed on me while i was playing Halo2 the other day...

Bought mine in Jan, Gets left on overnight with a dvd playing, Doesn't get used too often but when it does its usually for quite lengthy periods of time ans its in quite a small space.

Still no problems :D
