After reading a thread on PH it got me thinking, I drive a van for work and know the reduced limits on the various roads when an NSL is posted. I was driving up to Fife a few weeks ago and a lot of you will know how the Scottish love their numbers on a stick instead of the NSL sign. Does this make any difference to a van's speed limit? Is it still technically an NSL even though there's no signage to say it is?

If NSL is posted you follow the NSL rules, if a max speed limit is posted, then you follow that speed, unless it's higher than your vehicles allowed speed on that type of road. (dual carriageway etc)
Being from Scotland, I see as many NSL signs as I see set speed limit signs, though.
