Acura have revealed the final iteration of the Acura (Honda) NSX.

Only 350 units to be made, 300 for the US, 30 for Japan and 20 for rest of the world. Non to come to the UK.

Link to Acura's official Type S page

Main differenes:

- Revised front & rear aero
- Gearbox tweaks & updates
- Suspensions tweaks & updates
- Tweaked turbos for +27BHP bringing it to 600BHP overall.
- New matte paint colour "Gotham grey"
- No major interior changes just a alacantara option
- Lightweight package optional (carbon cermaics, interior & exterior carbon parts inc roof)
- New forged wheel design.
- Total of 10 colour options

My thoughts....

Mildly disappointed, especially after the hype. Only 27BHP more really just brings the car up to downpiped specced NSX's (mine included).

The lightweight package seems to be abit of a con really, as the carbon roof was standard fit in the UK and most had carbon ceramics. However a lot of US cars were bare bones with steel brakes, plastic engine cover, standard roof. So I guess this makes sense for the target market. Base car is no lighter however.

No interior updates other than a half alancantara/leather option. Was really hoping they would update the infotainment.

Prices starting at $169K or up to $180K USD.

Personally I would really struggle to justify the upgrade here, as my car already has all the "lightweight package" parts and has the downpipes, so performance will be so so similar.......however as I can't buy one anyway the decision is made for me!

I'm glad they did it but Acura/Honda just seem abit behind the curve with updates, especially when you think Huracans were coming with 610PS back in 2014.

However, I do love that front end! Now where to find a Type S front & rear end!

I think given the very poor sales rate, putting too much effort into a special edition was likely a waste of resources.

For some reason this never got me from day one. Yes looks quite a nice car but somehow hasn't got it's own image somehow... I don't know, it's just too expensive no matter how it goes and looks for the badge... it's a shame, it's a no man lands car a little for me... would I go out and buy that car if I had the money, no I don't think I would... why, I don't know... I think the cost would be the killer...thats seriously limted numbers as well

Would love to have a drive in one, see if that could pursuede me?

That’s the thing, most people who can afford super cars like this can lay the extra £20-30k and go for a Lambo/Ferrari etc for the show factor. Or more pragmatic buyers will go for a 911 Turbo/GT3 etc.

They drive incredibly, although I’m biased ofc. But before buying mine I did test drive the Huracan and R8!

At £85-100k used they are a very good buy. Hopefully the abysmal sales will aid its exclusivity and potentially value in years to come!

Hi there

Was the Type S though not always versions with basically bolt-ons and some minor revisions, it was always the Type-R which was effectively a race car with number plates, but I can't see them making a Type R version as it would be mega expensive and only the die hard fans would buy one, but saying that I am sure they would sell every single one.

I am a fan of the modern NSX I think it looks amazing and considering they were 80-90k not long ago incredible value for money, though I think they are all north of 100k plus again now, due to used car market moving north.

Still great car and I like the burnt orange/yellow colour.

There was no NSX Type R :p

Yes there was. The Type R NSX was the very first Type R Honda ever made back in 1992.

I believe the official name was NSX-R but by all accounts it was known as a Type R and what followed was some truly amazing cars.

They are now worth incredible amounts of money, I think Torque GT posted about one going under auction in Japan starting at £296k or there abouts!

Would definitely sell body parts for one. I love them!

The NA2 is my favourite, but the NA1 with the red Recaro's is also stunning.

this one looks lovely, so simple and elegant.

Its an automatic which is really pretty terrible in the NSX, hence why on face value it seems cheap as very small market for the auto, its a car that is meant to be a manual to be properly enjoyed.

I remember very nearly buying an NA1 bronze NSX when I was in my early 20's it was like around 16k and it would have stretched me so I gave it a miss, if I had got that car and still had it today probably be worth north of 100k plus. But I'd have probably sold it as I tend to move cars on, having had a CSL and sold it cheap, not buying an R34 GTR V-Spec UK when offered to me at 23k, but still no regrets, well maybe the Skyline but I did get to enjoy that car for six weeks thanks to the owner of one of our competitors lending it me, it was Bayside blue also, perfect spec.

it reminds me of the rx7 such beauty of that generation too, i imagine they have lots of issues though.

Rotary's, if you give them lots of love aren't that bad. Again Torque GT have a lovely RX7 Spirit-R in stock but at £60k its a bit too much.

Apparently there was a hint towards a new generation Integra somewhere in the post? Saw something on Reddit about it but too lazy to find the link
