Hi,

I have a Freecom external USB drive that I wish to format to Fat32.

It's currently NTFS.

In the drop down box it only gives me an option to format to NTFS

Am I missing a trick here or am I stuck with being unable to format to Fat32?

I'm running Windows XP Home with all updates applied (in case that makes a difference!)

The only reason I want to go Fat32 is to make the drive available for my PS3.

Thanks for any tips you may be able to pass my way. :)

Windows will only let you format in FAT32 if the volume is less than 32Gb despite FAT32 supporting 2Tb volumes. You'll need to use a third party tool like Partition Magic to format a large drive in FAT32

Thanks for the info. :)

You will most likely either have to google an app or else do it from a fat32 based os.
Ive not tried it but have a looksie at this
http://www.compuapps.com/Download/sw...swissknife.htm it might help.

Thanks. I will download that and give it a try out. :)
