NTL 10Mb Upgrades Starting Tonight?!

Can't wait until the 2MB lines are upgraded :D. Have NTL released any word on the exact dates for the 2MB upgrades?
Yeah I would like to know this too. Are the 2MB lines still going to go to 10MB with monthly download limits?

Re 2MB: When this 10MB deal was initially announced, they talked of putting the 1MB and 2MB users up to 10MB in February. Though the wording of the FAQ has now changed....

(I am a Brighton 2MB user with a NTL Home 120 modem still on firmware ntlhm120_ntl0001.cpr)

I've just phoned up NTL and according to the bored lady on the other end of the phone 2MB and 1MB aren't getting upgraded. It was only for the 3MB lines. Apparently they never intended to upgrade everyone to the 10MB line and then just charge for the different download limits.

Well, that is weird. As they had originally posted on their own website that everyone was to be migrated to 10MB.

I'd check http://www.ntlhell.co.uk for a better answer. That forum is covered with NTL users and Employees. There are many employees there who actually know what they are talking about. :)

Edit: Follow some of the discussion URLs from the front page. For example, This Post linked on the front page takes you to a 41 page discussion. Skip to page 40 and you'll see comments there about 2MB upgrades being held over until the second half of 2006. (Originally the date in the NTL FAQ was Feb2006). There are also comments there from customers who tried to "cancel" their 2MB service... only to be offered £18 per month and a 10MB line!!

So it is all pot luck as to who you talk to in "Customer Support".

Anyone else not had any confirmation about 2mb being unlimited?I recieved my bill this morning and there was no mention of it and i've had no email either.Just wondering if there is anyone else still unsure?

on the NTL site on the front page where it has all 3 options it says that the 2MB si unlimited but when you click on the link the info says 30GIG limit. However on the 1MB info it says unlimited on both. So I think thats just a mistake on their part.

Well this feels better, just got of the phone to them ive gone from 512k unlimited that they downgraded me to a few months ago to 2meg unlimited again.

The guy on the phone knew nothing about it, he had to go on the NTL site before he even believed me lol.

Hi guys, not point in starting another thread so here goes...

I've had my 3mb since it started and aparantly got the 'free' upgrade after my dad rang up...

Anyway, since then...i have never had over 3mb...infact I cannot remember getting 3mb on any speedtests I have done...

Its more like 1.5-2... I have, however, got the upload of 500?

I've checked my modem, router(new firmware) and ofcourse my Shuttle...

Still NOT getting near 3mb, never mind 10?

What can NTL do if I ring them? check the local box? what am I best doing guys?

Thanks

Thanks JimJones, can't actually find the one you are referring to but i did eventually get to a page which shows unlimited 1 & 2mb.
