Ohio is the only state that doesn't share a letter with the word "Mackerel"
It's also widely believed that the same is true of the "door close" buttons inside elevators - they're just there because it gives people a sense of control. However, it's not true. In the US (at least) it would actually be a fire safety violation if the button didn't work.
Kentucky is the only state that doesn't share a letter with the word "Osama"
By whom?

Go to bed with itchy bum, wake up with brown finger.
On traffic crossings: you may notice little gubbins on the underside of the button unit. This will spin when it is safe to cross the road, visually impaired people use this.
According to who?
edit: ok I found the source, a list compiled from leaked passwords, but the fact is you are most likely to be on the list if you have a very easy password like this, so it probably overstates the use of such passwords somewhat
According to who?
Yeah these days they are cone shaped. I learn't this from being a support worker of the visually impaired. Not always
When I first was told that as a kid in the late 90s I tried it out on several local crossing. While they had the metal rod thingy, non of them actually spun when the green man lit up. However I'm not sure if this is still the case today.
