Number of Continents in the world

I hate to break this to you Zip, but the earth isn't actually flat :p

I know but i was just putting in the lines to show where things start and end :p

when people talk about 5 continents don't they just mean
Americas
Europe
Africa
Asia
Australasia
?

It's easy to stick N&S America together and Antarctica has no people so we can ignore it.

"There are several ways of distinguishing the continents"

7 continents:
North America
South America
Antarctica
Africa
Europe
Asia
Australia

6 continents:
North America
South America
Antarctica
Africa
Eurasia
Australia

"The 7-continent model is usually taught in Western Europe, Northern Europe, Central Europe, China and most English-speaking countries. The 6-continent combined-Eurasia model is preferred by the geographic community, Russia, Eastern Europe, and Japan. The 6-continent combined-America model is taught in Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, Italy, Iran and some other parts of Europe; this model may be taught to include only the 5 inhabited continents (excluding Antarctica)."

doesn't the 4 corners thing come from the bible or something? so it probably doesn't know the Americas, Antarctica, Australasia or the far East even exist.

Sod the continents, I want to know how to find 'The Four Corners of The World' on an oblate spheroid.
Come off it, the four corners of the earth are quite obviously all at Greenwich. England is the most important country in the world and everything begins and ends right here, everywhere else is just... well somewhere else!

If you get the right world map you can see it :)

You kinda have to overlap them a bit though, but its cut up quite well to see what i mean :D

The problem is that two corners of the world (East and West) are in exactly the same place.

Exactly.

When people usually antarctica isn't counted because it has no population and Asia and europe are added together to make eurasia if people want 5 continents.

I don't know where all the others went to school! :p

I also want to know what seven of the dozens of seas they were talking about when they 'sailed the seven seas'

I want to know that too, and was "Seas of Cheese" included in the list?

That's a rather interesting theory. I hadn't seen that before. Does anybody know of any more of this guy's work? I'm interested in how he explains the Himalayas if they were not caused by the subduction of the Asia under the Indian subcontinent.

EDIT: His name appears to be named Neal Adams.

So what continent does Santa live on?
If he lives in Lapland, then Europe. If he lives at the north pole, then he doesn't live on any continent as it's not on solid ground.
