Funny you should say that, i put my car on a council weighbridge last week, it came out at 1520kg with me in it, so approx 1440 without me..

I am very intrested in going May-July, not sure if I will go on the ring, depends if I will be insured I suppose.

Apparently you can get the eurotunnel crossing for £40, then its just petrol, food and hotels. Might be an idea to camp instead though? Would be cheaper.
