Also the specs are equivalent to the following:

745mhz Core/1150mhz DDR3 Mem
256bit bus
64 shaders
256mb

Thats just 300mhz less than my X1900XT memory clocks, which can't possibly make that much difference. I reckon its either a driver issue or those shaders have been crippled in some way.

actually becuase its ddr the memory is running at 2.2ghz and it has a 128bit bus not a 256bit
its the bus which is slowing it down

But my point is that 2200mhz DDR on a 128bit bus is approximately equivalent to 1100mhz DDR on a 256bit bus, which isn't that much slower than the cards in the Geforce 7/X1000 series.

yer but it was surpose to out peform the 1900 and 7900 high end stuff
it doesnt even touch a 1950pro which is mid range, this card is surpose to out perform it.
the 1950pro has memory rated at 1400mhz on a 256bit bus and thats mid range so why cant nvidia do that
isnt stead of going for 2200mhz on a 128bit bus

unless this card is going to be sub £100 then i dont see anyone buying it myself, knowing Nvidia its going to be £150+ which is X1950XT territory, yeah it might not be DX10 but if the 8600GTS performs that badly in DX9 imagine what its going to be like running crysis.
