I need to do a double-take at looking at the £475 Asus 2070S...no Asus tax !!??

Yeah but it’s a launch only price from them as it’s OC model they have no none OC this part will go upto around £500 a few days after launch.

Only one site hit that high, TPU afaik. Maybe high ambient?

In our open bench testing in a warm office with no AC the card was 70c running Heaven maxed out on 4K resolution and though it was audible it was quieter than past blower cards. Seems not so bad but could be better but it’s the best blower cooler yet.

I am not a fan of anybody or anything. The 3rd party cards will launch soon, it is a few weeks at most.

Performance is on par for a lot less money, the 2070S is superior in some games, the 5700 XT is superior in others.

All I would say one thing in AMDs favour they gain more performance over time so something to maybe consider.

RX 580 vs 1060 6G at launch 1060 won but now RX 580 wins at everything.

If NAVI has similar gains then 5700 XT may beat Super in months to come in most games but time will tell but I feel both 5700 and Super cards represent much better value.

The results I posted are a mixed bag from Hexus, not a clear winner, other non-biased reviewers are showing similar results. I am not trying to deceive anybody. The truth is the 5700 XT is as fast as the 2070S for £95 less. I am not looking to buy either though.

AMD are basically back in the game and though the blower cooler is not perfect the 5700XT is a quality cooler being all metal no plastic in sight and it does a good job and at £379.99 it is very hard to deny the value on offer and though 5700 uses the more traditional cooler it also really packs a punch too.

They look like good cards but yes still a tad overpriced, AMD got a good card too.

If the Supers are being released it makes me wonder how much better the 3000 series will be?

How are they overpriced when they offer the same performance as their competitor more or less for less money. AMD are doing a great job and as a result we’re now getting 1080Ti performance for sub £500 and if 5700XT overclocked can offer 1080Ti performance at sub £400 that’s a move in the right direction for sure.
