Nvidia 280 worth it?

My brother bought a 280 (after 2 faulty fans on the powercolor 4870 with the aftermarket fan on).

We only got the 280 as we had a 10% off email, and forum member meant free shipping, so had an awesome deal.
Cant say we notice any difference over the 4870.

For your res though a 260 or 260 or 4870 is way OTT though

Better overclocker, cheaper, more stable, less picky about what memory it will run.

Get rid of that competitors name and you have to star out every letter of the naughty word.

and asus has a lot of boards across a lot of chipsets that start with p5, e.g. p5k,p5e,p5q etc.
