While most of the talk is (rightly) about stock issues on this paper launch, I'm not seeing much discussion on the huge amount of power these cards require.

Has anyone done the maths on how much this is going to cost the consumer over the 2080ti?

Edit - oops, accidentally hit the Enter key with my sausage fingers, will see where the discussion goes

Well, the going rate per kWh is around 15p/unit these days (bit more bit less). Using a kilowatt for an hour will cost 15p. So if a new card uses an extra 100 watts, that's 0.1kWh per hour when gaming.
So if you game for 10 hours a week, and 52 weeks a year, that'd be 0.1kW x 10hrs x 52w x £0.16 = £8.32

So for a heavy user (5 hours a day) you could be looking at 30 quid a year extra electricity (though maybe saving a little on heating costs, heh).

If you're paying 800 for a 3080, which looks likely atm, and another 100 for a good quality PSU (if you don't have one) and a few years (the usual warranty) of an extra thirty quid in bills...

You're getting close to a grand and not that much of a better deal than a 2080ti? Unless you can secure one of these for 650 and have a decent system already, this launch just looks worse and worse.
