Nvidia 3D Vision vs ATI Eyefinity

Firstly, cards on the table. I've tried 3D TV in a shop twice, never tried nVidia 3D or gaming.

Right, now I've said that, I set up Eyefinity at the weekend and I absolutely love it! :) My monitors are different sizes (existing 26 inch DGM flanked by 2 new 24 inch Iiyamas), the two side ones are too low at the moment and I've only played a handful of my games so far, but I honestly think it's the most impressive change in my gaming experience since going from a Spectrum to an Amiga.

Lots of people say that they've never tried Eyefinity but the bezels would make it impossible. All I would ask is how long were you driving your car before you stopped seeing the pillars between windscreen and side windows and just saw the road outside? Seriously, it's the same thing - after ten seconds I honestly don't notice the bezels until I look for them.

If you get the chance to try both setups (any of your mates running either?), do so and then decide for yourself which you prefer, it really does come down to personal choice. If you don't have the chance to try both, then just choose one and go with it - I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed and if later on you do get the chance to try the one you didn't choose you'll be hooked on your choice already and won't feel like you missed out.

Choose and enjoy! :)

I personally prefer 3d vision. Although 3 monitor 2d gaming is great too :D
One thing i want to point out is that the 3d on 3dtv's that i have demo'd showing 3d blu ray, sky 3d doesnt compare to the effect of 3d vision games on max depth. I would say the movies and sky 3d are roughly around the same as 3d vision gaming set to 15 percent. My friend said that his ps3 black ops on his 3dtv has a smaller 3d effect too but i cant comfirm because i havent used it myself. So just incase you are one of the people underwhelmed by the 3d in the shop, there is still hope. I have used 3d vision for well over a year and still think its the best, but every time i watch a blu ray 3d or even go the cinema im always underwhelmed by the 3d cardboard cutout effect from the lack of depth.

Phil.

I have also read a lot of dvd people saying its not here to stay. From watching just 3d blu ray i can understand were they are coming from even if a bit harsh. But for games it really does take them to the next level.

With the obvious difference that you can lean to look around the pillars in your car, whereas you can't with Eyefinity.

So that'll be nothing like it at all then.

Of course, because when I'm driving I spend ALL my time throwing myself side to side in the seat to see around my A-pillars.

This is not a thread to start an argument about whether or not you agree with my analogy, this is a thread for people with experience of Eyefinity or nVidia3D (or preferably both) to give their opinions and hopefully allow the OP to make an informed decision as to which to spend their hard earned money on. If you have an experience with either, please post it to help the OP, but please don't simply troll to pick holes in other peoples comments and try to start arguments. Cheers. :)

I have 3d vision and play WoW and Bad company

Both look fantastic in 3d but you will have to switch of room light and keyboard light, any things in your peripheral vision will spoil your experience or give you flickers.

I love Wow and Mafia II in 3d and I don't play it without 3d anymore. However, Bad Company and the fast action FPS I still prefer 2d but at 120Hz, I cann't aim for headshot in 3d with or without ironsight.....2d 120Hz is very smooth, helps a lot at aiming for headshot in Bad company
