Ok i have a ati 5850 atm and i am looking to get into 3d gaming and blyray movies etc i have heard that even compared to the new 3d tv`s nvidias 3d glasses are superior , can anyone comment on this .?
Also does Nvidias 3d glasses support 3d bluray dvds now? or will it support sky3d in the futrue?
Only reason i am asking is if the glasses only work with nvida games etc its a lot of money to change over to 3d nvidia vision if the glasses wont work with 3d dvds or sky 3d?

if i am to sell my ati card what nvidia one do you recommend to change it for ? cheers:p

There aren't enough movies in 3D imo to make it worth it and the effect while good on a monitor isn't a patch on how good it looks on a proper wall size display.

Personally I found that while the effect was good, its not the next logical step for gaming and more of an inconvenience compared to just playing in normal 2D and I couldn't find enough supported movies to make it worth while - so my 3D Vision kit has sat almost unused for the last 6+ months, except 5 minutes checking out Mafia 2 and showing it off to people who've never used 3D before.

Personally I'd say to make it decently smooth at 1680x or higher res look at a high clocked GTX460 or GTX470 or better. But from my experience 9/10 people will put it aside once the novelty has past.

GTX470 or higher for 3D NVidia, however my mate uses GTX285 (not sure about settings) tried bioshock 2, Left 4 Dead, prince of persia,.. did enjoy it!

As to movies have to agree with Rroff, so far only 2-3 movies I enjoyed with 3D effect!

dam and blast it , been sitting on the nt drinking red wine , and gorn darn it just ordered a acer h5360 720p 3d projector .......... oh well now need the gforce card and glasses .......:D

Merry Christmas

If you spend much time watching movies tho not much can touch a decent HD projector and a wallsize image even without using 3D :D

well going to angola tomorrow for 9 weeks for work so wont see it till i come back buy figured with the vat increase in january i should get it now ;)

i have a infocus x1 projector just now but its pant compared to the new hd projectors ;)

As some have already said, 3D is just a gimmick. It's like the industry runs out of road in technical terms so resorts to 3D just to plug a gap until the next big thing.
IMO it seems primitive having to don glasses when watching a movie or play a game, all for an effect which isn't that convincing.

It depends, having got mine today, the effects in some games can be confusing, but in the games that are fully geared up for it, the effects can be stunning and atmospheric.

I put Metro 2033 on, and it was without doubt the most immersive gaming experience i had ever had, it was simply breathtaking, although it left me feeling sick as a dog after ten minutes.

...Thats because your not supposed to be in a futuristic city killing Aliens!

1: To get the same fps in a game with equal graphical settings you have to pretty much go sli.

2: Going sli means not only cost of new card, but possibly new psu. Add this to cost of new monitor and glasses kit.

3: Unless you have perfect vision there will always be a small amount of ghosting.

Is it really worth all that money when the technology isn't really perfected yet?

Me personally, I don't think so.

Anyone here having issues wearing 3d glasses with a gaming headset? Does the width of the sides of the glasses cause any discomfort with heavy surround headsets?
