I'm hoping I'll be sitting pretty with my 7900 XT still performing great as it stands. Considering I bought it about 18 months ago, I can't really claim to have buyer's remorse no matter how the next gen turns out, but I can possibly experience buyer's gloating
Can only wonder what the truth is. With the latest rumours being the 5080 16 GB is going to be ~$1500, but so savagely cut down compared to the 5090 (and 4090), it can't possibly be that impressive.
On the other hand the latest word is the Radeon RX 9070 XT is going to be '7900 XT / 4080' performance for the price of a 7800 XT .
It's rather hard to reconcile these two latest rumours. I mean, is there supposed to be something like a 25% performance gap between the RX 9070 XT and RTX 5080, but the latter will cost 3x as much?
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if CES reveals current speculation to be way off the mark.
