NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Got to wonder how much of that 575W is really needed. I've held my 4090 at a 90% power limit for as long as I've had it and don't seem to lose any significant performance.

For gaming hardly ever IMO, but it's there when needed. I imagine the upper scale is for heavy none game related work loads or crazy overclocks.

You only lose on average 4fps power limiting a 4090 to 80% power. that's on average, so the actual drop in realtime is even lower. If you undervolt and then OC the VRAM then you end up gaining a few fps whilst still using the same lower power. 4090s are highly overspecced on the power front.

Is it me or should the
5080 be the 5070ti
5070ti be the 5070
5070 be the 5060?
I do hope reviewers call NVIDIA out on their BS but I doubt it.
We have had 16GB on the 80-class GPUs for 2 generations now and it doesn't make any sense.

Gap between the 5090 and 5080 is way too big.

When you have the best of the best anything else is on the devs IMO. It's a nice feeling for the next two years.

We all know 5090 will be able to sold for almost it's full cost at the end of the gen. It's a none brainer if you have the money and are a gamer.

Only time I'd say to ignore that advice is when the performance between the top two tiers is super close... and let's face it Nvidia would never allow that again.

Tech just isn't advancing like it use to, but it is holding its value much better.

I never saw a single aib 4090 below 2000. I think it will be even worse this time.

Nonsense, there were plenty around the £1700 mark.

So the 5090 is 25% more expensive than a 4090, if it's only 25% faster it's a fail. Poor at 30-40% faster and ok at 50% in my book.

Yeah I feel like 40% is the threshold for me.

Liquid metal and passthrough airflow, no reason why it would not be able to really.

So, if the FE is using liquid metal, does that mean they've been working with Thermal Grizzly on the cooler design and does that mean Roman has had access to prototypes for a while and already knows how it performs? :)
