NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

They were all conditioned during the pandemic to accept this as normal pricing, i bet a lot on here even paid scalper prices so paying 2k plus is nothing out of the ordinary. Nvidia has done a wonderful job in keeping prices nice and high… what’s that saying? “Pre-scalped for your convenience”?
I waited like 3 months for my 3080 so I could get a FE at MSRP using a stock checker. paid off though. My BP was through the roof when i was checking out lol. i had missed like 20 by mere seconds.

What’s funny is that people are comparing the price of the 4090 FE in nvidia store to the Third party 2.3k version of the 5090 when the 4090 third party versions were also 200-300 bucks more then teh 4090 FE …..
Funny old thread. I see people complaining about 600w but then when the 30% benchmarks were out people saying the 4090 can be overclocked to 600w so the performance difference was even smaller.

Good luck ordering anything lol, Gibbo says ocuk have single digit stock, expect FE stock via Nvidia t o be menacingly small too as previously hinted.

The less you buy the more you save as it turns out.
Makes me laugh that before the 9800x3d launched people were saying the days of low stock launches and scalping were over, and they were moaning at people who were claming there would be shortages. (hmmm) then the 9800x3d launch happened and now this... it's like the 3080 days all over again, only worse by the sound of it.

Plenty of us would pay that in our right mind ;)

I almost paid £2K for a 4090... £1869 or something like that for an MSI Suprim.
I wouldn't. I can easily afford a 5090 but I won't out of pure principle. It's just not worth it if all you're going to do is game imo. I paid £1700 for my 3090 but over 2k, you have to start questioning where it's going. Where does it end? 3k, 4k .. 5? Insanity.

And that's fair enough, but I literally live in my computer worth every penny.

What would be the price when you'd say no?
£2600-2700 as far as I'll go.

I'll try and order an FE as well. But in reality even then I doubt I'll get in, as some will probably be priced at 2800-3000.

If I don't acquire one for Jan 31st (my bday) then tbh I'm fine waiting months. And I'll avoid the aftermath chaos of trying to get one.

I had booked time off work from when I could order Jan 30th until Feb 11th so if I don't get one, back to work I go :o:mad:

£2500 no card is worth thst much money lol..
Honestly, nVidia's MSRP is about my limit (it's more than what should be acceptable tbh). I ain't paying a penny over £2k. If my only 5090 option is paying more, then I'm either gonna skip this generation or just settle for a (air quotes) 5080 (air quotes) ... though dropping from an 80 class card to a 70 class card would irk me a little.... so maybe just skip the gen.

Yes, it does somewhat put a dampener on Nvidia’s “we are the best” willy waving…
