NVIDIA 5000 SERIES - ***NO COMPETITOR HINTING***

Do you get a feel that most people are genuinely wanting the card for themselves, or can you spot the dirty rotten scalpers from a mile away?
The real question is, is @GoRedwings19 the scalper? hehe

Anyways i dont blame the Scalpers. i blame the users who are willing to part cash to the scalpers to buy this card

Suprim x 5090 SOC £2.6k
Hmm so 3100 EUR almost even then, yeah that is way more than I am pulling to pay for an AIB. Unfortunate. Wonder if any of the other MSI cards will be more reasonable. Kind of want to keep it at 2800EUR / 2400GBP
Might just be me but feel like there's not a whole lot going on in the 2400-2900 EUR range. Kind of ridiculous, surely they can put together a premium AIB that does not have to cost a 700-800EUR premium right?

It all depends how you look at it:

^^^ it is ultimately the 3rd best consumer card in raw raster and it's less than £1k (for FE).

Our 3090s are right at the bottom in respect of value :o :D
Errrrrm at least you didn't get the 3090ti I mean what kind of idiot gets that...and by that I mean 2 of them as well *cough* *cough* Hey look a squirrel outside.......

Msi's are pricy this time round. They are pulling an Asus Tax aka MSI tax. The Aus Tuf is actually cheaper than all of the Msi range. Lulz.

Lulz £2.5k for a gaming trio? Lulz. They have more plastic than a my little pony play set.
2309 for Tuf. Wtf asus actually given better value?

That doesn't make sense. If you buy it second hand later for much cheaper, it's suddenly good? The GPU hasn't changed, it's not bad. The pricing is awful. To me, a bad GPU is something I wouldn't ever recommend someone buy.
Price has to be a factor in whether or not a product is considered good, if the 5090 was £100 or if it was £100k it wouldn't change your opinion on if it was 'good' or not?

Yeah what bothered me about this is that its 2400$ for the Suprim in the US and then the Astral was 2800$. But then over here both are 3100 EUR?
Not sure how that happened. I think the TUF would be a nice one to have though. Can't say the Astral reviews impressed me though, not sure if that's a good sign for the TUF.

I bought my Zotac from OcUK on 4090 launch date for £2,029.99. So the only card I'm going for is a FE as then it would be a cheaper upgrade than last time... Ignore the fact I'll need a new CPU :D

I guess you missed the last few hardware launches. Nvidia will announce record demand and how thrilled they are at the success of their new lineup. They won't be readily in stock for months and will just keep selling out. Maybe by late Spring, early Summer the retailers might have caught up on pre-orders and actually have some in stock for anyone to buy.
The way I see it, if you want a 5080, you made a mistake and should've just got a 4080 on release, if you want something better, should've got a 4090 and if you want to get bent over, the 5090 gives you that option!

Can't imagine how gutted the recent sellers of 4090s on the members market feel, not been many but think the last few have gone for the £1200-1400 region! A strix went for £1250 the other day! Solidly in the region that the much worse 5080s will go for.

Pricing what makes a product bad or good you can even say that every tier of card , you said if it was called a 5070 and priced cheaper it wouldn't be bad , so what would you call it at the moment? I ain't talking about second hand prices you maybe able to get much later

Sorry, I guess my point didn't come across. My point was that's all optics. The 5080 remains good hardware, it's just not in a good place. The latter point will make it a bad purchase for a lot of people, but not a bad GPU.

Well I have had the Tuf 4070 ti super and strix version of the 4090. And the practically the same in terms of build, temps , How loud they run. Excellent cards bt they tend to cost more than the competition by a lot. And the before you even factoring in if you get the white version as then the price goes up again.

My intial plan was to get an Astral, I may still do. But the suprims have been getting good reviews but there has been a significan price hike. So when I got my suprim 4090 x it cost £2100 on 4090 release day. It now up at £2.6k. The liquid cooled version is only £50 more
