NVIDIA 680 Price Cut

:confused: GTX 670's are still looking expensive to me?

Its worth it for those at >1080p IMO compared to the 660TI.
All slightly overpriced compared to the AMD counterparts but thats brand recogniton,physx etc. Overall I think the prices have settled to roughly where they should be.

I think the GTX 670 is worth it's extra cost for SLi performance and higher resolutions.

Worth it for 1080p as well unless you play single core pap games in which the GPU doesn't make much difference :D.

Your price scales look about right for reference models. At that price they would clean up and their margins must be higher per card than AMDs due to the large difference in specs.

2 680's on sale for £359.99 here. That is a pretty decent price and both MSI (decent name). Not the best 680's by any means but knock a few quid more off and they are looking more tempting.

Great barometers of GPU performance those. That's why they all feature on websites test pack for GPUs... Oh wait!

No, I tend to play games I ENJOY and want to play rather than playing something just to prove how much better my card is than someone elses.

Oh and at what point did I mention my card in this thread?

You're priceless. I'm sure you honestly believe people play games just to prove their cards are better as well.

You didn't mention your card? What are you on about now? I didn't mention your card either I just pointed out that the 670 is worth it over the 660Ti even at 1080p unless you play games which don't utilise a GPU that much due to only using one core.

Jeez not another purchase justification thread please. :(

LOL Of course they do! Isn't this an overclockers forum?

There is nothing wrong with healthy competition, hence the benchmark threads.

Sorry Mart but I strongly believe that people DON'T play games just to prove their cards are better.

The benchmark threads that I run are a bit of fun (for most) and anyone who is serious, would be doing LN2 benching and on HWbot. Water cooling is the most that the generality of users here will go to.

Games are fun though and anyone who buys a game just for bench reasons has too much money.

Should be:

GTX680 = £300
GTX670 = £250
GTX660Ti = £200
GTX660 = £160

IMO

ideally yes, but it's never going to be when a GTX 660 is 10x faster than anything in a current-gen games console.

this generation has a huge premium, because you are paying for the best graphics available en-masse to the public on any platform.

I'd totally buy ANY of those cards at those prices XD

LOL coming from the man who sold two of the BEST performing cards of this generation! :p

Logic failure. People play games to enjoy them. It's quite cute you think people play games to show off how fast their card is. :D

What has purchase justification got to do with selling two 680s? More logic failure.

p.s. there's an edit button on the forums no need to spam your post count up :(
