Is the Nvidia 7600 a card worth buying? I am looking at getting a new card and that one looks sweet. Nice core and mem speeds to it. With the 7900 having a lot of problems at the mo i was looking at this card.

Tried an X1800XT 256mb but had problems with the card! Had to be sent back so don't fancy trying one of those again.

Would the 7600 play all new games etc? What about with a Widescreen TFT, would it be ok for one of those. I have not got a WS TFT yet but am looking into buying one or maybe a good 17" TFT. Thanks for any help given.

Anyone got a 7600 that can let me know what it is like? I know the GT is the best to get but is it worth getting the standard version or one of the clocked ones?

i have a7600gt on my p-d 930 rig, at 4.2ghz combine with my ledtek px7600gt tdh i get 156fps avg in css with everything maxed out 12x10.
havnt bothered to play any other games on it yet :p

The 7600GT is a decent card, somewhere between a 6800GT & 6800Ultra in performance. Nowehere near as good as a X1800XT. For the money though the X1800XT cant be beat.

Granted, the X1800XT is a good card but i had problems with the one i had so don't want to buy that again. Just want to know if the 7600 is a great card and should i get the 'standard' version one?

well for starters the 7600 is faster than a 6800 Ultra.
Coming inbetween the 6800 ultra and 7800 GT.

just get the cheapest.

117 gets you the BFG fusion one.
but if you can stretch get the 7900 GT.

Its the pre clocked 7900 GTX that have issues. And why anyone would buy a pre clocked card anyway....

when you can just clock it yourself.

Its not just the pre clocked 7900 GTX that are having problems. It is the full range of 7900 cards. I could post some links to forums where this is in much evidence but i don't think that is allowed. As i said before, my mate had an ordinary 7900 that was having the problems. I won't go near a 7900 now. Don't won't to risk having problems.

If the 7600 GT 256, standard version is a good card that will run all games then that will probably be my choice.

lol what about the HIS excalibur X1800GTO at something like £140, there cracking for the price, have read reviews about them being highly overclockable with a small voltage increase (software in the review) and possibly unlockable

Thanks but they are old tech now. Very interested in the 7600 GT. Just want to know if it is a good card.

Anybody had any problems with a 7600 GT?

Hi, I've just added a gigbyte 7600gt to my yonah setup, replacing a 800xl, seems fine and a little faster, its great for lower power setups

Only a very very very small number of 7900s are having problems & it's only the pre overclocked ones. If you go for a normal 7900 GT you shouldnt have any troubles at all. They all clock just as well so it'll make no difference which brand you get ;)

ye go for the cheapest 7600 gt, they are apparently realy good cards, overclock well and they also use less power than ati cards...

i think they are very good value for money cards

I'm sure a 7600GT will play games like HL2 and CSS no problems, since the game isn't really graphics limited. Practically anything will play Source at high frames per second. But I wouldn't compare a 7600GT with a X1800XT - the X1800XT is a much better performer.

With you saying the 7900s having a problem - I'm pretty sure it's only a small number of them - unless we're talking about a new batch. Mine's a pre-clocked 7900GT by XFX and it's having no issues.

Wrong. Not just the overclocked versions are having problems. Many people on the net with standard ones having issues. My mate was one of them. He had a standard clocked 7900 with problems.

X1800GTOs are new cards, there not old in the slightest, there faster than 7600GT in most cases but usually slightly more expensive
