how well dose this intergrated chip run? i am going to be getting the macbook pro 13'' and while i will not be using it for gaming i would like to know what it can handle game wise.
will it be able to run things such as WoW, CoD and battlefield? and if so how well can the graphics chip handle them?

it would be nice to be able to play the odd game when traveling :) and want to know what it can cope with.

thanks.

20-30 fps using a 9400 at the panels default resolution with not much going on.
Enough for larking around, not enough for raids/multiplayer if you're used to the performance of a decent desktop PC.

Look on youtube for videos of Macbooks playing games; also check this thread I made a while ago about the Pro.

thats kind of what i was exspecting from the chip, good enough as i have a gaming pc for wel gaming. just wanted to know if i would be able to play diablo3 when it is out and as the graphics look similar to wow i should be able to get away with it on my mac :)

thanks for the post btw its apreaciated :), in one of the revues someone menctioned it can get very hot and the fans start buzzing loudly this was with the 9600m and i am guessing there is no problem with the 9400m as it will run cooler?

if anyone elce has a 13'' macpro or another mac with the 9400m more imput will also be nice :)

A bit off topic but I thought I'd mention this.
You probably realise your spelling is not the greatest in your posts. Try and enable spell checking in your browser or find out how.

You will get more responses and it would appear you've made an effort to make them readable. I'm not trying to be mean, I spent 10 years with a dyslexic girl and to this day do my best to help similar people on forums I run.

yeah my spelling is poor, i do normaly check it but at the moment i am posting inbetween revision for my A2 exsams and am aready spending to much time on forums.
normal spell checking will comence after the 16th :)

:) was looking at some revues and it seems that the 13'' macbook with the 9400m can run a lot of the new games at reasonable frame rates and settings, was really suprised. the guy is running oblivion nearly maxed out on a 13'' mac with about 30fps.
some other games were CoD, half life 2, team fortres and some others.
if anyone wants me to find the revue i will try and find it after my a levels.

but it has 100% confirmed i am now convirted to mac, now just to pic the 13'' specs and get the thing :D

Great thread :D

I was wondering the exact same thing as I only ever play WoW and Pokerstars on my PC now - most gaming has moved to my consoles.
Working with unix and linux all day I thought it may be time to move over to using it full time and the 13" MBP seems ideal for what I want. 15" and 17" is too big for me, I have a desktop if I need to view a 24" display. Something small (for travelling and gaming on the sofa) is all thats required. Should be powerful enough to run Serato Itch too as my Aspire one is not quite upto the job.
