How would they know?

Through Nvidia's new CYYCB Technology, the existing NVidia cable ties into the CYYCB chip on the ref board which acts like a counter. CYYCB stands for Caught You Ya Cheap *******. Seriously yeah how would they ever know..

Being told that apparently NVidia have said using third-party 12-pin cables will void the warranty.

Any links or corroboration on this?

their warranty also says that running any software not provided with the card will void the warranty, but I would think they'd have a hard time refusing warranty because you used it to run games

Not sure I am going to order now from OC, they put the price up of the card I wanted by £80 and have been slowly upping their prices as they know demand is high.

I managed to bag an MSI Gaming Trio off a competitor that opened up orders last night by accident, rang them today and apparently it will be fulfilled once stock is in.. so we'll see (don't believe them).

I've just noticed the EVGA FTW3/Ultra cards got listed on OcUK, does anyone know if they plan to open up preorders on these? This is the card I really want...

Also, why do the prices seem much higher here than elsewhere? Is this OcUK price gouging themselves?

Water cooling the power restricted FE is kind of not worth it.

I tend to agree, FE is probably not the right model to go for a water cooling solution this gen a reference model would be better but which ones will be able to tolerate a higher power limit?

Yea, was tempted to buy the Palit card last night from the shop that listed them early but decided against it because I would rather get an FE if possible and also the price was £719

why didnt nvidia just go with 12gb since they can fit 12 on one side, deliberate penny pinching to make the cards obsolete faster.

imho its because it would up the memory bandwidth and close in on the 3090

I guess it's easy pickings when you have a shop owned forum where the users are your paying customers and are talking about buying anyway, regardless of price gouging.

Yeah true ha....I have a massive case though and ill be getting a 3rd party and water-cooling it, so no issues there.

I don't know whether I want an AIB or a FE card.

Or whether I just wait for the dust to settle, get closer to Nov, see what AMD does and then choose something...
