NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Whatever the percentage actually is (I assume tech powerup has done a lot of testing) is irrelevant in a vacuum. Without knowing how much money Nvidia wants for x% increase, it doesn't matter.

Last time around Nvidia wanted a lot more money for a little more performance...because ray tracing, they said.

Maybe... 40% :D (~£1500 for 3080Ti)

Do review embargoes usually lift the day before cards are available for pre-order? I don’t want to order too much or too little card for 4K/60.

Is the lol because no rt cores were needed?

Well you tell us, we all know that the new SOC's in the Xbox series X and the Playstation 5 have Hardware accelerated ray tracing. Does that mean it has separate cores for doing the calculations or is it just using the existing stream processors. as we know one would be much slower than the other.

Referring to the RT cores in nvidias GPUs. I don't know what's in the PS5. But you knew that.

Top of the line GPUs have always been expensive.

I remember buying a Matrox Mystique 220 4MB in 1997 for £150. It was absolute garbage
Not long after in maybe 1998, my friend got a Diamond Monster 3D II 3dfx Voodoo2 12MB. At least double the price but the best GPU ever created.
I've just had a quick look and there are even videos of Voodoo 2 in SLI running Doom 3!

I had both of those.

Every generation there are a few who think if performance is going up by x% the price must also be going up the same percentage. Lol.

Speaking of graphics, if this is PS5 then PC is in for a treat

Running at 1440p 30fps ouchies, and epic said in an interview that the ps5 gpu is equivalent to a rtx2070

though the visuals are impressive

3080ti would be needed to do 4K 60fps, but of next gen games look like that I'll buy two 3080tis

Must admit I'm itching for these gpus, my 1080 ti is dying a death at 4k or 3840x1620.
Right now I want to play control, rdr2 and metro exodus, and the 1080ti is falling flat on its face in these games at high res.

Looking for 50% + increase in fps so it will need to be 3080 or 3080ti for me, luckily I believe these new cards will be cheaper than the 2000 series. Not by that much tho.

Say hello to Ampere's Tesla GA100. The big daddy of next gen GPU's. Over 8000 cores, flanked by tons of HBM2 VRAM built on TSMC 7nm EUV.

More details will come tomorrow at the GTC keynote
