NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Pretty meh with the rumoured pricing. £1400 for the 3090 is not encouraging me to upgrade my 2080ti and the 3080 would be a sidegrade at best outside of raytracing (my oc 2080ti scores around 7900 in TSE).

Looks like it'll have to be the 3080 for me, unless I can make myself wait for the 3080S / Ti or AMD's offering.

I wonder if AMD will leak some info shortly after 1st Sep.

Do we actually need more VRAM? :)

Cant say I have ever checked how much VRAM I am using.
Yes. yes we do. Flight sim uses heaps for a start. Im not buying a top end card in 2020 (nearly 2021) that has less than 12GB. Sorry. If that means the 3080 is a no go then so be it. I'll wait for AMD. They are never shy with the amount of Mem you get.

Any actual games need it though, FS isnt a game. :p

That would certainly be useful. I'll definitely be upgrading once Zen 3 is released (though probably won't build anything until I've moved house at end of September). Probably not a lot of point rushing to buy a card at pre-order if I need to wait anyway, unless there's massive issues with stock...
